June Coffee Talk

We are excited to announce our next coffee talk. It promises to be engaging, interesting and informative so do come along if you can. Full details on the image (left).

This event is free and no booking is required (but donations are always welcome and go towards future events – or consider become a friend of Kennington Library, click here to find out more/how).

We hope to see you there!

Love our Local Library 📚❤️

We are lucky to have a library in the heart of the village.

Since being threatened with closure our library has been a Community Library. This means that FOKL has to raise a significant proportion of the library’s running costs every year; without this money Kennington Library would close.

Becoming a Friend is easy and costs from just £5 per year. If you aren’t a friend already, please consider joining today! You can fill out the digital membership form here. If you prefer a printed form, you can download the membership form and print and return the completed copy to the library; or pick up a form from the library.

You can also make regular or single payments as donations or membership fees up to £20 to our PayPal account simply by clicking on the Donate button above or clicking here.

You can also support the library by visiting the library and by borrowing books. The continued existence of our wonderful library also depends on people using it and borrowing books. People of all ages. The library has many wonderful books, across many genres, and members can reserve books across from across the county.

Do consider becoming a Friend of Kennington library and we hope to see you at the library soon.

FOKL Newsletter

Welcome to the first edition of FOKL Point, an annual newsletter from the Trustees of FOKL.
This newsletter will not replace the regular mailings listing forthcoming FOKL events, rather its aim is to
update members as to what has been going on during the year as well as to signpost our future plans.
The newsletter is written for Friends – people who, in addition to being members of the library (which
will always be free), help or have helped keep the library open through their ongoing financial support.
Inevitably when trying something new, our ideas for FOKL Point will develop. Please let us know what
you would like to see by emailing me; my email address is at the end of this newsletter.
John Argyle, Chair of FOKL. Click here to download the newsletter or you can see it below.

March Coffee Talk

Our best reads of 2023

Every December Kennington Library’s monthly author/coffee talk slot is devoted to discussing the books that those present have enjoyed that year. We had a lively meeting and some great books were suggested.

As in previous years the books discussed, by Kennington Library readers and friends, were very varied covering fiction and non fiction from different eras, countries and perspectives.

We hope you enjoy these books as much as we have!
